Two Royal Artillery regiments were specifically named for Newfoundland — the 166th (Newfoundland) Field Regiment, which served in Britain, North Africa and Italy, and the 59th (Newfoundland) Heavy Regiment, which fought in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.
