The Kings African Rifles (KAR) was a British colonial regiment established on January 1, 1902, by amalgamating various regional forces, including the Central African Regiment, East African Rifles, and Uganda Rifles. This consolidation resulted in six battalions: 1st and 2nd (Nyasaland), 3rd (Kenya), 4th and 5th (Uganda), and 6th (Somaliland)
