19th Battalion (Central Ontario), Canadian Expeditionary Force — a WWI unit active from 6 November 1914 to 30 April 1919, part of the 2nd Canadian Division, Canadian Corps.It saw action at the Battle of Flers-Courcelette, Thiepval, Le Transloy, and the Ancre Heights in 1916; Vimy Ridge, Hill 70, and Passchendaele in 1917; and in 1918 fought through the Battles of Amiens, the Second Somme, Drocourt-Quéant, the Hindenburg Line, Canal du Nord, and the Pursuit to Mons , its first commander being Lt. Col. J. I. McLaren.
