The 64th Ch¢teauguay and Beauharnois Regiment was a unit of the Canadian Militia with roots tracing back to the late 19th century in Quebec. On May 1, 1901, the 64th Regiment Voltigeurs de Beauharnois€ amalgamated with the 76th Regiment Voltigeurs de Ch¢teauguay,€ resulting in the formation of the 64th Regiment of Rifles Voltigeurs de Ch¢teauguay.€ This unit was subsequently renamed the 64th Ch¢teauguay and Beauharnois Regiment on March 1, 1902. With the onset of World War I, elements of the regiment were placed on active service on August 6, 1914. A contingent comprising six officers and sixty soldiers was deployed to Camp Valcartier on August 18, 1914, contributing to the formation of the 12th Canadian Expeditionary Force. In the post-war period, the regiment underwent several redesignations, becoming Le R©giment Ch¢teauguay et Beauharnois on March 29, 1920, and later Le R©giment de Ch¢teauguay on March 15, 1921. On September 1, 1954, it was amalgamated with the Royal 22e R©giment, becoming the 4th Battalion, Royal 22e R©giment (Ch¢teauguay).
