Most of the anodised badges encountered are later common versions made by Gaunt, a genuine period example like this is much harder to find

Combined Norfolk and Suffolk Yeomanry badges were introduced in 1961, when the two regiments merged into the 308th (Suffolk and Norfolk Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA.

The IWM’s own pattern card record for this badge shows it approved 17 October 1962, catalogue no. 8455-99-974-2237, described exactly as yours: castle anodised gold, ERII cypher, crown and scrolls anodised silver.

The regiment (and this badge) went out of use in 1967, when it became 202 (Suffolk and Norfolk Yeomanry) Battery.

So the badge has a genuinely tight production window of 1961 to 1967, most likely dating from the badge’s formal approval in late 1962, with Timmings as one of the contracted makers supplying insignia in that window.
