About this item
An outstanding example of the British Helmet, Steel, Airborne Troops Mk II in exceptional post-war condition. The shell retains virtually all of its original olive green textured paint with no significant loss or damage. The original tan camouflage net is present and intact, and the leather liner - marked BMB 1953, size 6⅞ - is remarkably well preserved, remaining soft and supple, a rarity in helmets of this age. The four-point khaki webbing chinstrap is complete and in excellent condition.

Regimental and historical background
The HSAT was developed for British paratroopers and airborne units during the Second World War and remained in front-line service into the 1980s. BMB - Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd of Dagenham - was one of the principal manufacturers of these helmets throughout the war and into the early 1950s. The company was acquired by Ford of Britain in 1953, making this liner one of the final examples produced under the BMB stamp. All fittings are in blackened steel, confirming this as the post-war production pattern introduced in the 1950s.

Why this piece stands out
A complete, honest, all-original example in a grade of condition that is rarely encountered. The combination of near-mint shell, intact net, and supple leather liner makes this an exceptional display piece suitable for serious collectors without further conservation.
