HOME GUARD red wool post war title In mint condition.
post-war reformed Home Guard (1952–1957). The Home Guard Act 1951 received Royal Assent in December of that year, with enrolment beginning on 2 April 1952. The reformed force wore standard 1949 pattern battledress with a midnight blue beret. The red/scarlet shoulder titles were part of this new uniform identity — a deliberate visual break from the wartime khaki aesthetic, signalling that this was a Cold War volunteer force, not a wartime emergency measure.
