Korean War 1st Battalion ‘Royal Sussex’ theatre made cloth title.

This unusual cloth shoulder title was in an album of various titles and had written below it Royal Sussex title made in Japan or  Korea during the Korean War, looking at the construction of it it seems the perfect explanation as to what is and why it is different.

The 1st Battalion of the Royal Sussex Regiment deployed to South Korea in August 1956. They served as a peacekeeping and stabilizing force following the 1953 armistice. Attached to the US 21st Regiment, they earned historical distinction as the last British infantry battalion to complete a tour of duty in Korea, leaving in 1957. [1, 2, 3]
