This is the Polish Medal za Warszawę 1939–1945 (Medal for Warsaw 1939–1945), a WWII commemorative award from the Polish People’s Republic.
Medal History
Established by decree on November 21, 1945, it honors defenders of Warsaw in September 1939, resistance fighters (1939–1945), Warsaw Uprising participants in 1944, and liberators in January 1945 by Polish and Soviet forces. Designed by Stanisław Łoza and Stanisław Gepner, it was a one-time award managed initially by the Ministry of National Defense.
