Post-1956 brass shoulder titles; matching pair with hexagon lug fixings.
Description
A fine matching pair of post-1956 brass shoulder titles for the Queen’s Own Warwickshire & Worcestershire Yeomanry. Both retain their original hexagonal lug fixings and remain in excellent condition with natural patina, ideal for mounting or display.
Background
The Queen’s Own Warwickshire & Worcestershire Yeomanry (QOWWY) was formed in 1956 through the amalgamation of two historic volunteer cavalry regiments — the Warwickshire Yeomanry (raised 1794) and the Queen’s Own Worcestershire Hussars (raised 1794).
Following the 1956 merger, the regiment served within the Royal Armoured Corps (Territorial Army), later transitioning through several reorganisations until becoming part of B (Warwickshire & Worcestershire Yeomanry) Squadron, Royal Yeomanry in 1971.
Shoulder titles of this pattern were worn during the late 1950s and 1960s, representing the early post-amalgamation era of the regiment before the move to anodised staybrite insignia.
