The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia), usually shortened to R Mon RE(M).

The cap badge itself: post-1952 Queen’s crown, bimetal (brass letters and scroll, white metal Prince of Wales’s feathers), rear slider fitting. The design shows the Prince of Wales’s feathers rising from a coronet, over the “ICH DIEN” motto scroll, flanked by the letters R and E, above a scroll reading “ROYAL MONMOUTHSHIRE.” It is essentially a standard Royal Engineers-family badge personalised for this one regiment, since the feathers and motto were carried over from its earlier days as an infantry militia loyal to the Prince of Wales, even after it converted to engineers.
