4th Battalion Royal Scots (Q.E.R.) Association Sweetheart Brooch
This vintage sweetheart brooch represents the 4th Battalion, Royal Scots (Queen’s Edinburgh Rifles) — one of Scotland’s most historic Territorial units. The badge features the battalion title across the top and the traditional Scottish motto “Nemo Me Impune Lacessit” (“No one provokes me with impunity”) around the central thistle emblem.
The 4th Battalion (Q.E.R.) served with distinction in both World Wars.
During World War I, the battalion fought at Gallipoli, in Egypt, and on the Western Front, taking part in some of the most demanding campaigns of the war. Re-formed again for World War II, the battalion continued its long tradition of service within the reorganised Territorial Army.
