WW1 CEF 25th Inf Batt (Nova Scotia Rifles) excavated shoulder numeral

This C/25 (Canadian 25th Infantry Battalion) numeral was excavated in Sanctuary wood area around 1970, it is completely intact and clearly maker marked TIPTAFT BIRM on rear, incredible to think what it has seen.
