Description:
A matching pair of original World War II British 6th Armoured Division formation signs. Each badge is made of fine wool felt with a machine-stitched black mailed fist emblem set against a black background. The pair remains in excellent, well-preserved condition with minimal signs of age or wear. Both appear unused and retain sharp edges, suggesting they were never sewn to uniform.
Background:
The 6th Armoured Division was a British Army formation active during the Second World War, serving in North Africa, Tunisia, and Italy between 1941 and 1945. Its distinctive insignia - a black mailed fist on black - symbolised strength and determination. Formation signs such as these were worn on the upper sleeves of battledress blouses to identify the wearer’s division.
